Although which teeth will remain impacted varies from person to person, the lower wisdom teeth, upper wisdom teeth and third incisors (canine teeth, canines) are the most impacted teeth. There are cases where other teeth are also impacted.
If the impacted teeth are in an area that will affect the aesthetics and function of the patient, they should be evaluated in terms of orthodontics and, if possible, should be performed with orthodontic treatment. In this way, while the aesthetic and functional problem caused by the lack of the impacted tooth is eliminated, the possible damages that the impacted tooth may cause are also eliminated. If the impacted tooth is in a position and condition that cannot be moved orthodontically, alternative treatments may be considered.
Impacted teeth must first be evaluated in terms of orthodontics. Many impacted teeth, especially incisors, which affect the aesthetics and function of the patient, can be performed in a healthy way with orthodontic treatment.
Impacted teeth; It can be taken under local anesthesia according to the position of the tooth, its effects on other teeth, its levels in the bone, whether the tooth has a developmental deformity or not, and the damage it has caused or may cause to the surrounding tissue, or it can be taken under sedation, the depth and duration of which we call sedation can be adjusted with the drugs given by the anesthesiologist.

The best time to remove impacted teeth; It is the young age when the patient does not show any symptoms, that is, there is no acute infection, preferably the healing capacity is better. If there are signs of active inflammation such as severe pain and swelling, these inflammations are suppressed with analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs, and the tooth is made ready for extraction. Preventive examination is important in order to take early precautions. Don't forget to make an appointment!
After the impacted teeth are removed, swelling, pain and bruising may occur due to pressure on the surrounding bone tissues during the operation. Even if such situations are considered as a normal healing process, in any case, your doctor who performed the operation should be consulted and a control appointment should be requested if necessary. In general, the problems that may occur occur in cases where the complications that can be easily solved when the doctor is consulted are ignored by saying that it is normal anyway. In order to keep the swelling that may occur at a minimum level, ice compresses should be applied in the shape and time recommended by your doctor, and the drugs given for pain should be taken at the recommended dose and time.
On the first day after extraction, spitting, brushing teeth, vigorous shaking, using a straw or gargling should not be done. In the first two days, warm, granular and soft foods should be consumed. Antiseptic mouthwashes recommended by the doctor should be used after each food consumption and tooth brushing. Pain relievers and, if recommended, antibiotics should be used regularly. Smoking should not be used for the first 48 hours as it will impair the healing process.
